Completed in 1991, the pavilion/shelter is located at the end of a rose-lined path between a cottage garden and a paddock for the display of sculptures.
Constructed from cypress pine poles and timbers in conjunction with cedar roof members and slats, the pavilion is a poetic and evocative addition to the park, reflecting and enhancing the surrounding environment in a stimulating way. Its innovative use of timber bent and curved in subtle ways and flexibility in the crafting of joints and connections was recognised when the structure was awarded the Kevin Borland Timber in Architecture award in 1995.
